Are donations to the EW ABC tax deductible?
Yes! The EW ABC has 501(c)(3) non-profit status with
the IRS, which makes your donations to the ABC tax deductible.
EW ABC Commitments:
- To support excellence of the Athletic Department
at the school and in the community;
- To allocate funds consistent with School and District
policy, and the mission of the ABC;
- To facilitate the most efficient process possible
for disbursement of approved funds, and
- To maintain the highest financial accountability
possible as stewards of these funds.
EW ABC Position Regarding Grants:
The main source of funding raised or administered by
the Athletic Booster Club ("ABC") is derived from and based
on the efforts of each individual team and program, with
"you get out what you put in" being the basic principle.
The ABC recognizes there may be athletic-related funding
needs that fall outside that basic principle; and, on such
rare occasions, the ABC will consider granting funds for
such needs. These grants are generally intended to fulfill
requests made directly by the Athletic Director based on
overall budgetary needs and the Athletic Department goals,
but exceptional requests from others are also considered
in accordance with ABC policies.
You are advised that ABC Grant Requests are approved
on a rare and very limited basis.

Sources of Funding:
- Member Dues: Member dues will
be used for operating expenses, such as administrative
expenses, professional fees, auction expenses and fund-raising
endeavors
- General Donations: General
donations will go into the General Account to be used
to for operating expenses not covered by member dues,
as well as to fund the ABC’s future Grant Request Program
- Directed Donations: Donors
may direct their gift to a specific purpose, program,
team or teams, and those gifts will only be used as
specifically directed by the donor, and deposited in
the appropriate sub-account if applicable
- ABC Fund-Raising Endeavors:
Program and team participation in ABC fund-raising projects
will determine the level of availability of ABC funds
for each program and team: "You get out what you put
in"
- Independent Team or Program Fund-Raising:
For those programs and teams wishing to take advantage
of the administrative efficiency of the ABC, their independently-raised
funds may be deposited into an ABC sub-account specifically
for use by that team or program.
- How Programs or Teams Access Sub-Account
Funds: An online form makes requesting funds
easy! Sub-Account balances are also available online
with the click of a button on the Coaches Page.

Guidelines for Requesting a Grant
- Grant Requests are reviewed by the Board and Athletic
Director for accuracy, consistency with School and District
policy, and the availability of funds from other sources
of school funding. The administration is invited to
make its recommendation, although the final decision
on whether or not a Grant is approved rests with the
ABC.
- Please be as specific as possible in providing the
information requested below. Our objective is to disburse
funds in a manner that is consistent, accountable and
reflects the wishes of the parents, guardians and businesses
who contributed these funds.
- Completed Grant Request forms should be received
to the EW ABC lock box in the Main Office or via email
to info@edmondswoodwayabc.com
a minimum of two weeks prior to the need for funds.
